Vietnam Mobile Service unlikely to hold IPO this year – executive

Vietnam Mobile Service Co., the operator of one of the largest mobile phone networks in Vietnam, is unlikely to hold an initial public offering this year, an executive with its parent company said Thursday.

The Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group executive told Dow Jones Newswires that the government and Vietnam Mobile Service are unable to agree on the valuation of the company.

He said once the IPO goes ahead, it’s likely to sell a combined 49% stake in Vietnam Mobile Service.

State media reported earlier Thursday that Vietnam Mobile Service will hold an IPO this year.- Downjones
