Vietnam Mekong Delta to invest VND860B in 5 agro projects

Thirteen cities and provinces in the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam have agreed to implement five agricultural projects totaling VND860 billion from now to 2015.

The projects are part of the government-led “tam nong” program which targets agricultural industry, farmers and rural areas.

Of the sum, a majority of VND555 billion will be poured into the rural vocation training program, and VND160 billion for the rice production and consumption program.

The remaining will be spent on the fruit production and consumption program, the pangasius development program, and the government’s policies implementation program.
