Vietnam Machinery, Equipment Imports +14% in Jan-July

Vietnam imported US$7.356 billion worth of machinery and equipment in the first seven months of this year, rising 14% from a year earlier.

The figure accounted for 16.1% of the country’s total import value during the period, the General Statistic Office said.

The Southeast Asian nation spent US$1.15 billion on importing these products in July, compared to US$1.185 billion in June.

The rising imports of machinery and equipment were partly blamed for Vietnam’s widening trade gap to US$7.443 billion between January and July. (GSO)
