Vietnam LPG Production +93.3% to 220,400 Tons in Jan-May

Vietnam produced 220,400 tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in the first five months of this year, up 93.3% from a year earlier, the government’s General Statistics Office (GSO) said.

The nation’s LPG output rose 37.77% on month and 244.4% on year to 62,000 tons in May, the office said.

Domestic gas production plants namely Dung Quat and Dinh Co are capable of producing a combined 500,000 tons to 600,000 tons of gas per year, meeting half of the national demand.

The GSO estimates the Southeast Asian country spent US$186 million on importing 246,000 metric tons of LPG between January and May, up 15.8% on year in value but down 25.6% in volume. – GSO
