Vietnam likely produces 9.773M tons of crude oil in Jan-Aug

Vietnam is estimated to have produced 9.773 million tons of crude oil in the first eight months of this year, said the government’s General Statistics Office (GSO).

The volume represents a fall of 14.6% from a year earlier, the office attributed.

The national crude output is estimated at 1.28 million tons in August, down 4.5% on year, the GSO said.

The office estimates the country exported 5.493 million metric tons of crude oil worth US$3.313 billion in the Jan-Aug, falling 44.2% and 20.5% on year, respectively.

This year, the state-run Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) expects to produce 23.58 million tons of oil equivalent from 15 million tons of crude oil and 8.58 billion cubic meters of natural gas. (GSO)
