Vietnam likely imports 379,000 tons of LPG in Jan-Aug

Vietnam is estimated to have spent US$264 million on importing 379,000 tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in the first eight months of this year, according to the government’s General Statistics Office (GSO).

The figures represented a fall of 27.9% from a year earlier in volume despite the same value, the GSO attributed.

Of the sum, the Southeast Asian country imported 55,000 tons of LPG worth US$34 million in August, the office said, giving no comparative figures.

The office said the nation spent US$523 million on importing other oil products between Jan and Aug, an on-year rise of 61.4%. (GSO)
