Vietnam, Laos to build five-star hotel in Vientiane
An agreement to build a five-star hotel complex in Lao’s capital city of Vientiane was signed by the Vietnam and Lao Ministries of Public Security (MPS) and Vietnam’s BIM Group on February 1.
The signing ceremony was attended by Lao Minister of MPS Thongban Sengaphon, Vietnamese Vice Minister of MPS Bui Van Nam, Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Ta Minh Chau and other high-ranking officials.
The US$70 million project will include a five-star hotel, residential and office blocks, and an international-standard retail, service and entertainment centre.
This is a big step forward in development cooperation between the two countries.
The first phase of the 20,000-square metre project is scheduled for completion in 2013.
