Vietnam keeps conducting nuclear power project

After the explosion of Fukushima I (in Fukushima Dai-ichi complex) nuclear plant happened because of earthquake and tsunami, Ngo Dang Nhan, director of Ministry of Science and Technology’s Nuclear Radiation Protection and Safety Department said the incident was seen as a necessary lesson for Vietnam, but it has not affected to step-by-step implementation of nuclear power project.

In order to ensure the safety of nuclear power industry, technology is the most important factor. Vietnam will select new generation technologies to approach the aim, he added.

At a news conference to discuss on explosion of nuclear plant and radiation leakages in Japan, held on March 16 in Hanoi, many specialists said that Vietnam should appraise, learn lessons from Japan as building up a nuclear power plant to gain a proper orientation.
