Vietnam int’l telecom conference opens in hanoi

The Vietnam International Telecom Conference 2011, organized by the Vietnamese Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) and Beacon Company from China’s Hong Kong, was held here on Wednesday .

Under the topic “Popularizing broadband throughout Vietnam”, the two-day conference attracted more than 250 representatives from domestic and foreign telecom businesses, telecom service and equipment suppliers, research and consultancy firms and investors in the field.

The event is aimed at promoting mutual understanding and opportunities for investment in Vietnamese telecom market among domestic and foreign investors, as well as providing domestic telecom businesses with updated telecom technologies, modes of business, high-tech application and services, MIC reported.

Participants to the conference will be presented with Vietnam’s telecom development and its strategy for development in the field. Experts from the International Telecom Union (ITU) will also present experience in broadband development and services on broadband network worldwide, and give recommendations to Vietnam, MIC said.
