Vietnam gold prices see slight increase on June 13

Gold prices on the domestic market increased slightly on June 13 by VND30,000 per tael compared to last week.

SJC gold in Hanoi was transacted at VND37.80- 37.86 million per tael while SBJ gold from Sacombank in HCM City was traded at VND 37.81-37.87 million per tael.

The buying price rose by VND 50,000 per tael and the selling price increased by VND30,000 per tael.

Gold was transacted in the Asian market at US$ 1,531.9 per ounce, down by US$ 0.2 compared to last weekend.

According to analysts, gold prices are likely to go up this week in reaction to public debt in Europe and inflation in the US.

The falling price of the US dollar has sent the gold market price plummeting. Consequently, domestic gold prices are now lower than world prices by VND 200,000-400,000 per tael. – VOV
