Vietnam gold price slips far from 38m dong/tael threshold – June 13
Opening this week’s first trading session, the domestic gold price in HCM City was being traded around 37.88 million dong per tael, slipping far from the 38 million dong per tael threshold.
At 9:30 am on June 13, the SJC gold price of Saigon Jewellery Co (SJC) is quoted at 37.82 million dong per tael (buying price) and 37.88 million dong/tael (selling price). In Hanoi, the gold price is traded at 37.79 and 37.87 million dong per tael.
During past week, the gold market was traded around the threshold of 38 million dong per tael. If comparing to last late Friday (June 10) when the gold price jumped to 38.01 million dong/tael, the current gold price dropped 130,000 dong per tael.
Meanwhile, the world gold price at 9:30 (June 13 Vietnamese time) was $1,532 per ounce, increasing slightly early today.
The interbank average forex rate (June 13) continued to be remained unchanged at 20,618 dong per US dollar, marking the lowest level since the forex rate adjustment (February 11). If comparing to the highest level of forex rate at 20,723 dong, the US dollar dropped 115 dong.
Commercial banks quoted the forex rate at 20,530-20,590 dong/US dollar. – Nguoi Lao Dong
