Vietnam glass output rises to 58.9M Sq.m in Jan-Aug

Glass producers in Vietnam are likely to generate 58.9 million square meters of glass in the first eight months of this year, the General Statistics Office said.

The figure represented an on-year increase of 24.3%, the GSO said in a statement released on August 26.

In August, the country’s glass output was 9.6 million square meters, up 6.8% on-year.

Vietnam’s glass demand rises between 8% and 10% annually, the Vietnam Glass Association (Vieglass) said, forecasting that the country will need 178 million sq.m of glass in 2016. (GSO)
