Vietnam GDP Reported at $45B at End-Jun: Ministry

Vietnam’s gross domestic product was VND855.2 trillion ($45 billion) at the end of June, the Ministry of Finance said on July 23.

The ministry, which has publicized figures on the national external debts on its website, did not give any more details and comparisons.

Vietnam’s economy grew 6.16% on-year in the first half of this year.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has said in its Asia Economic Monitor report that the Southeast Asian country is on track to reach the National Assembly’s economic growth target of 6.5% this year, compared to a slow expansion of 5.32% in 2009.

Goldman Sach is more optimistic, projecting a growth of 8.2% for Vietnam this year. – VCCI
