Vietnam gas prices rise VND8,000/Cylinder

The retail prices of domestic gas have increased by VND8,000 per 12 kilo cylinder to between VND325,000-VND330,000 per cylinder on January 4 morning

The retail prices of domestic gas have increased by VND8,000 per 12 kilo cylinder to between VND325,000-VND330,000 per cylinder on January 4 morning, the local newspaper Saigontimes reported December 3, citing local gas traders.

Retail gas prices hike has come out as PV Gas, Vietnam’s biggest gas distributor, cut the discount on wholesale gas prices to $10/ton from earlier figure of $20/ton, Do Trung Thanh, deputy sales manager of Saigon Petrol Gas said.

On December 2010, local gas traders raised VND38,000 per 12 kilo cylinder and VND41,000 per 13 kilo cylinder at the beginning of the month. However, the gas prices dropped by VND13,000 per 12 kilo cylinder after the Ministry of Finance decided to cut tax on imported gas by 3% to 2%. – Stoxplus.com
