Vietnam Exports US$13.596B Worth of Agro-Forestry, Seafood in Jan-Nov
Vietnam is estimated to have earned US$13.596 billion from export of major agro-forestry and seafood products in the first eleven months of 2009, the Government’s General Statistics Office (GSO) said.
Between January and November, export revenue of rubber fell 32.4% to US$1.018 billion, export of handicrafts decreased 21.1% to US$160 million, coffee down 17.4% to US$1.507 billion from a year ago. Exports of timber and woodworks fell 11.1% to US$2.271 billion, and cashew nut dropped 10.1% to US$760 million.
The country also witnessed a decrease in seafood export by 6.2% against the same period last year to US$3.928 billion, and rice export was down 5.8% to US$2.555 billion.
Meanwhile, cassava export grew 55.4% to US$519 million, shipments of tea rose 19.2% to US$163 million, pepper and vegetable & fruits increased 11.8% and 5.4% to US$328 million and US$388 million, respectively. (GSO)
