Vietnam Crude Oil Output Falls 16.2% to 7.253M Tons in H1

Vietnam’s crude oil production decreased by 16.2% from a year earlier to 7.253 million tons in the first half of this year, the state-run General Statistics Office (GSO) said on July 1.

The country produced 1.2 million tons of crude in June, down 13% on year, the GSO attributed.

The office estimates the nation exported 4.278 million metric tons of crude oil worth US$2.6 billion in the first half of this year, down 46.3% on year in volume and 17.8% in value.

This year, the state-run Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) expects to produce 23.58 million tons of oil equivalent from 15 million tons of crude oil and 8.58 billion cubic meters of natural gas this year.
