Vietnam Coal Exports Up 19.8% to 22.281M Tons in Jan-Nov

Vietnam is estimated to have exported 22.281 million tons of coal valued at US$1.174 billion in the first eleven months of this year, up 19.8% and down 11.3% from a year earlier, respectively, the state-run General Statistics Office (GSO) said on November 27.

The Southeast Asian country shipped abroad 2.3 million tons of the fossil fuel worth US$129 million in November, up 646.75% in volume and up 186.66% in value from a year earlier, the GSO said.
The country exported 2.309 million tons of coal in Oct.

The state-owned Vietnam National Coal-Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin), the country’s top miner, expects to sell 44.5 million tons of coal this year, comprising 25 million tons to foreign markets and 19.5 million tons to the domestic market.

Vietnam is currently a key coal supplier to China and Japan. (GSO)
