Vietnam cashew export is leading the world market for the fourth consecutive times as exporting 179,000 tons of cashews worth $1 billion in the first 11 months of this year

Vietnam cashew export is leading the world market for the fourth consecutive times as exporting 179,000 tons of cashews worth $1 billion in the first 11 months of this year, the online newspaper VnEconomy reported on December 15, citing Nguyen Thai Hoc, president of Vietnam Cashew Association (Vinacas).

In Jan-Nov, the cashew export rose around 11% for quantity and 31.9% for value. The average price of exported cashew nut currently stand at $6,600/ton, up 27% on year, according the Information and Statistics Center under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said.

The cashew nut are exported to 52 countries in the world, targeting in US (35%), China (20%), and EU(25%).

The country is estimated to export 198,000 tons of cashew worth $1.135 billion for the whole year of 2010, up 11.8% for quantity and 34% for value, the center said. – Stoxplus.com
