Vietnam builds another hydro power plant in Laos
The V&H Corporation of Vietnam will build the Lower Sekong Hydro-Power Plant with a designed capacity of 80MW in Laos .
A memorandum of understanding on this project was signed in Vientiane on Aug. 26.
Signatories were Nguyen Van Minh, Deputy General Director of the Hoang Anh Gia Lai Joint Stock Company, representing V&H Corporation, and Thongmi Phomvisay, Lao Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment.
Currently, V&H Corporation is completing exploration and survey activities to report to the Lao Government and implement the project.
Together with Nam Cong Hydro Power Plants 2 and 3, the Lower Sekong Hydro-Power Plant is expected to contribute to electricity generation, as well as job placement, poverty reduction and budget contribution to Laos.
