Vietnam biggest city to host Energy Conservation Expo in November

The Energy Conservation Centre of HCM City (ECC-HCMC) and Anh That Commerce and Service Ltd., Co will organize the energy conservation exposition 2010 (ENCON EXPO 2010) in the metropolis, the biggest in Vietnam, on November 25-28.

The event, featuring energy-efficient products and renewable energy, will have between 300 and 400 pavilions from 40 foreign enterprises and 200 domestic businesses.

The exhibition aims to promote the exchange, cooperation and transfer of techniques on energy saving as well as introduce energy-efficient appliances in an effort to raise public awareness of using energy-saving products.

Vietnam is likely to turn from an energy exporter into an importer by 2015, although it is still boosting coal exports and is estimated to squander around US$1 million worth of energy each day due to inefficient energy use.
