Vietnam Apparel Exports +17.1% to US$3.8B in Jan-May

Vietnam’s apparel export is estimated to have soared 17.1% from a year earlier to US$3.81 billion in the first five months of 2010, the General Statistics Office (GSO) said May 25.

In May, the country has exported US$810 million worth of apparels, rising 4.65% from the previous month and 16.4% from May 2009.

In the five-year period, the country has spent US$269 million on importing cotton, up 154.2% on-year, US$427 million on fiber, up 54.6%, US$2.01 billion on cloth, up 23.9% and US$1.01 billion on materials and accessories for apparel and footwear industries, up 31.7%. (GSO)
