Vietnam Airlines to start Centrair-Ho Chi Minh service in August

Vietnam Airlines said Friday it will inaugurate regular flights between HCM City and Central Japan International Airport, the chief gateway to Nagoya known as Centrair, in August. The flights will operate twice a week, according to the Vietnamese national flag carrier which currently operates four flights between Hanoi and the central Japanese airport.

The service will enable people travelling from Japan to Vietnam to include stops in Hanoi and HCM City, and is expected to be supported by demand from tourists, it said. A Centrair official said, ”HCM City is a gateway to Southeast Asia, so the new route will have great significance in that it will help to expand the network” of air routes to Southeast Asian destinations.
