Vietnam Airlines opens Hanoi-Rangoon route

Vietnam Airlines opened a direct route from Hanoi to Rangoon, Myanmar, on March 2, starting with 4 flights a week.

To encourage Vietnamese tourists to visit Myanmar, Vietnam Airlines is offering a discounted fare of VND4.620 million to Rangoon from now till the end of March.

By the end of 2010, the airlines will increase its Hanoi-Rangoon flights to five per week, using A320 aircraft.

Le Hoang Dung, a spokesman for Vietnam Airlines, says the new route will help boost business and tourism between Vietnam and Myanmar.

With a large and expanding network of routes, Vietnam Airlines wants to make Hanoi a hub for international passengers, who want to visit and explore the hidden potential of Myanmar.
