Vietnam’s exports could rise 18.2 % to $67.5 billion this year, beating a government growth target of more than 6 %, a state-run newspaper reported on Wednesday.

Vietnam’s exports between January and August rose 19.7 % from a year earlier to $44.52 billion, the government said on Tuesday.

To reach the annual value of $67.5 billion, businesses need to earn $22.98 billion within the last four months of this year, or $5.74 billion a month, the Planning and Investment Ministry-run Dau Tu (Investment) newspaper said.

“This is an average figure which is not too difficult to attain,” the newspaper cited a ministry report as saying, with exports since June reaching at least $6 billion per month.
