Vietnam’s trade deficit in Sept. estimated at US$1 billion: Customs
Vietnam’s exports in September were estimated at US$8.3 billion, down 10.2% compared with August, bringing the total export value in the first nine months to US$70.02 billion, up 35.4% over the same period in 2010, VietBiz24.com quoted the data from the General Department of Vietnam Customs on Friday.
The import spending in September was estimated at US$9.3 billion, down 3.6% from the previous month and the country’s Jan-Sept. import value reached US$76.87 billion, up 26.9% over the same period in 2010.
Total export and import turnover in Sept. 2011 was estimated at US$17.6 billion, down 6.8% from the previous month. In Jan-Sept. 2011, Vietnam’s total export and import turnover reached US$146.9 billion, up 30.9% over the same period in 2010.
The country’s trade deficit in Sept. was estimated at US$1 billion, up 152% from the previous month, bringing the total trade gap in the first nine months of 2011 to US$6.8 billion, equal to 9.8% of total exports.”-Source:Vietbiz24.com”
