Vietnam’s total retail sales and services fall 3.15pct in Feb

Vietnam’s total retail sales and services in February reached 149.735 trillion dong, falling 3.15% against January, according to the General Statistics Office (GSO).

In the structure in February, trade fell 4.71% due to the long Lunar New Year [Tet] holiday. However, other groups such as hotel, restaurant and services still soared 2.26% and 4.13% due to the demand for relaxing, entertainment and tourism increased strongly during the holiday.

Thus, the country’s total retail sales and service in first two months this year reached 304.342 trillion dong, a year on year rise of 23.7%, if excluding the price factor, the rise was 10.2% year-on-year. – Vietbiz24
