Vietnam’s rice export last week fetches $64m

From October 1 till 27, Vietnam exported 348,567 tons of rice, earning $189.438 million, Vietnam Food Association (VFA) reported.
In the week between October 20 and 27 alone, the country’s rice export reached 115,794 tons, worth $63.855 million, up 3.3% in volume and 3% in value from previous week (112,096 tons of rice).

Accumulatively, from January 1 to October 27, 2011, the country’s rice export reached 6,226 million tons valued at $3.006 billion.

According to VFA, the dried paddy price at warehouse in the Mekong Delta region ranged between 7,100-7,250 dong/kg, higher 50 dong than 7,150-7,300 dong previously. The price of long grain paddy was about 7,300-7,450 dong/kg, ranging around 50 dong against 7,350-7,500 dong/kg in previous week.

The raw rice price type 1 to make 5% broken rice is at 9,550-9,700 dong/kg in each locality and raw rice price to make 25% broken rice is at 9,450-9,600 dong/kg depending on quality and localities. In the previous week, the 5% and 25% broken rice prices were 9,500-9,650 dong/kg and 9,350-9,500 dong/kg respectively.

The price of 5% broken rice without bag at boat is currently at 11,550-11,700 dong/kg, remaining unchanged from previous week, 15% broken rice increased from 10,950-11,050 dong/kg to 11,000-11,150 dong/kg and 25% broken rice increased from 10,400-10,550 dong/kg to 10,450-10,600 dong/kg depending on quality and localities.
