Vietnam’s export turnover for agro-forestry and seafood products fetches $10b in Jan-May

During the first five months of this year, Vietnam’s total export turnover for agro-forestry and fisheries products saw a rise of 41 percent from the same period last year.
In May alone, the country’s export turnover of these items is estimated to reach $2.1 billion.

The value of export agricultural products increased strongly to reach 6.1 billion, 1.5 times higher than the same period last year while seafood products export earned $2.1 billion, up 27.3 percent year on year and forestry products export gained $1.6 billion, a year on year rise of 19.1 percent.

Particularly, cashew export although decreased 13.5 percent in quantity with 53,000 tones but increase 21 percent in value year on year. The cashew price reached $7,289 per tone, up 39.2 percent from the same period last year.

Coffee export turnover reached nearly $1.8 billion, up 43.8 percent in quantity and 2.3 fold increase in value year on year. Rubber export in Jan-May reached 230,000 tones worth $1 billion, up only 26.3 percent in quantity but two-fold increase in value year on year. – Vietbiz24
