Vietnam’s disbursed FDI capital estimated at over $11b in 2011

Although newly-pledged FDI (foreign direct investment) capital in Vietnam decreased, the disbursed FDI capital this year may reach $11-11.5 billion as targeted, Overseas Investment Department under the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MoPI) said recently.
According to Overseas Investment Department’s latest report, in September, the country’s FDI capital disbursement was estimated to reach $900 million, bringing the total figure in the first nine months of this year to $8.2 billion, rising 2% from the same period last year.

In Jan-Sep, Vietnam has granted investment licenses for 675 new FDI projects with a total pledged capital of $8.23 billion and 178 existing projects registered to increase the investment by $1.66 billion.

Totally, both raised and newly pledged FDI capital in Jan-Sep reached $9.9 billion, or 72% over the same period last year.

Statistics also showed foreign investors have been interested in processing and manufacturing industry sectors, production and distribution of electricity, construction, accommodation services and catering services. – Source: Vietbiz24.com
