Viet Nam to honour security experts
ASEAN members have submitted 63 nominations for candidates to be considered for the Chief Security Officer (CSO) awards that are granted every year to those working to keep information systems safe for enterprises, organisations and institutions.
The receipt of nominations were announced by the HCM City Department of Information and Communications, Viet Nam Computer Emergency Response Team (VNCERT) and the International Data Group (IDG).
The awards, which are granted annually, aim to honour CSOs in charge of policy making and deploying necessary methods to keep information systems at enterprises, organisations, and institutions safe.
The names of the winners will be announced at the second CSO ASEAN Conference Awards held in HCM City next month.
The organisers said that awards were expanded to the ASEAN region this year, meaning CSOs in all 10 ASEAN member nations had a chance to be nominated.
The expansion would be a great chance for CSOs from Viet Nam to exchange and learn from the experiences of their counterparts from other countries, they said.
At the CSO Conference 2010 themed The Evolving CSO: From Incident Reaction to Proactive Management, participants including international specialists will discuss effective security strategies and management for enterprises, leading-edge security technologies and solutions and how to improve security awareness among organisations and the community at large.
The top CSO award given last year was won by Ngo Tuan Anh, Director of Bach Khoa Internet Security (BKIS) Telecom company. — VNS
