US$13.65B Vietnam Exports Declared via E-Customs in H1
Around 1,100 exporters in Vietnam filled on-line forms for their outbound shipments worth of US$13.65 billion in the first half of this year, the General Department of Customs said at a meeting held in Hanoi on July 6.
Thirty customs units in ten localities applied online procedures during the period.
E-customs procedures are now being applied for three fields of trading, outsourcing and export-oriented goods, the department noted, adding that the country has piloted online procedures for the export-processing sector and prioritized enterprises.
Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung has approved the Ministry of Finance’s plan on expanding a pilot e-customs declaration program to three more localities of Lao Cai, Ha Tinh and Can Tho this year.
The program has been conducted in Haiphong and Ho Chi Minh City customs offices since October 2005 and been expanded to eight others in Hanoi, Lang Song, Quang Ninh, Danang, Quang Ngai, Dong Nai, Binh Duong and Ba Ria-Vung Tau since mid-December 2009.
