US remains Vietnam’s biggest coffee buyer

As announced by the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) on March 1, in 2010, the US still remained Vietnam’s biggest buyer of coffee with an export turnover of $248.7 million, a year-on-year rise of 26.4 percent.

Entering the year 2011, coffee export has many favourable conditions on consumption markets and the US and Japanese markets have started the recovery signals.

The coffee export price in the world and local markets also tended to increase strongly.

With such favourable conditions, the country’s coffee export is expected to reach 1.2 million tones valued at over $2.4 billion this year.
