US dollar price on free market climbs to 21,300 dong

The US dollar price on free market on September 26 surged strongly 150 dong from previous day and many foreign currency shops refused to notice the price.
At noon September 26, a shop in Ha Trung street announced the US dollar price at 21,250-21,300 dong each (buying-selling prices), rising 150 dong each from Sunday (September 25).

At another shop in Hang Bac Street also announced the US dollar buying price at lower by 21,200 dong each and the selling price was at 21,300 dong/US dollar.

The sudden sharp surge of US dollar price made many shops refuse to quote the price for customers. In HCM City, a shop in district 11 also said that it had no US dollar for selling. Some shops in Hang Bac Street, Hanoi also denied selling US dollar because they had no US dollar.

In the gold market, the local gold price slipped 1.2 million dong per tael in morning September 26 to quote at 44.1-44.5 million dong per tael. The strong fall of gold price increased the volume of transactions at gold shops.
