US dollar price in black market exceeds 21000 dong

In the afternoon on September 13, the US dollar price at a foreign exchange shop in Ha Trung street (Hanoi) was quoted at 20,910 dong (bid), up 50 dong and the 20,940 dong (ask), up 20 dong from the previous day, according to the local online newswire VnExpress.
Till morning September 14, a foreign currency trader on Ha Trung St (Hanoi) said that the US dollar buying price was 20,980 dong and the US dollar selling price was 21,030 dong, up 70 dong in buying price and 90 dong in selling price from previous day.

Meanwhile, the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) on September 15 still remained unchanged the interbank average forex rate at 20,628 dong/US dollar for 19 consecutive days.

Accordingly, commercial banks also kept the US dollar prices stable. Vietnam Commercial Joint Stock Bank for Foreign Trade (Vietcombank-VCB) and Vietnam Commercial Joint Stock Bank of Industry and Trade (VietinBank-CTG) announced to buy US dollar at 20,830 dong and sell US dollar at the forex rate ceiling of 20,834 dong. – Vietbiz24
