US company builds beverage can plant in Binh Duong

The US-invested TBC/Ball Beverage Can Vietnam Limited began construction of a beer and beverage can plant worth US$50 million in the southern province of Binh Duong on June 12.

With a designed capacity of 850 million cans each year, the eight-ha plant in Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park II (VSIPII) is expected to become the main supplier for many foreign-invested companies in Vietnam, including PepsiCo Vietnam Company.

The project is in accordance with the Government’s policies that encourage materials and components production in a bid to meet industrial demands and lure more foreign investment, according to the Binh Duong People’s Committee.

VSIP II has attracted the largest amount of foreign investment in the province with 32 projects, of which 12 have received licences at a total registered capital of US$220 million. – VOV
