UNDP Helps VN Strengthen Access to Justice and Protection of Rights

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) have initiated a five-year project called “Strengthening access to justice and protection of rights in Vietnam” in Hanoi. Accordingly, UNDP will provide US$6.4 million to support MOJ and related justice agencies in strengthening access to justice and rights protection for the poor and vulnerable groups in Vietnam.

The project will support a number of Vietnam’s key priorities in legal and judicial reform from now until 2014. The project is a stepping stone of the process of supporting the implementation of the Strategy for the Development of Vietnam’s Legal System to 2010 with vision to 2020. The project will also support the Judicial Reform Steering Committee’s Secretariat to conduct cross-cutting research on implementation of the Judicial Reform Strategy to 2020.
