U.S., Vietnam Should Narrow Differences to Beef up Bilateral Ties
The U.S. and Vietnam should work together to narrow differences as part of efforts to beef up the bilateral ties, Vietnamese-American Congressman Joseph Cao who is on visit to Vietnam proposed.
“Differences†between the two countries are natural and Washington and Hanoi should work more closely to understand more about each other, Joseph Cao told Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs-cum-head of the National Committee for Overseas Vietnam Nguyen Thanh Son in Hanoi on Jan 5’s morning.
This is the first-ever visit to Vietnam by Joseph Cao as a U.S. congressman with aims to learn about the real situation and other issues in the Southeast Asian country.
Cao also thanks the government’s visa grant and expected that the bilateral cooperation between Hanoi and Washington will be expanded in coming years.
Deputy Minister Son appreciated Cao’s ongoing visit will help to tighten cooperative ties between the two countries’ parliaments.
