Trade fair to boost development for central key economic region

More than 200 domestic and foreign businesses are showcasing their products at an international trade fair opening in Hue City on June 4.

The event, jointly held by Thua Thien-Hue province and the CIAT Advertising and Trade Joint Stock Company, is coordinated with Hue Festival 2010 and the Thang Long-Hanoi millennial anniversary.

The fair is divided into different sections to present the economic, cultural, and social achievements of Thua Thien-Hue and other provinces and cities, exhibit Thai and Lao products, showcase tourism services, and display art and handicraft products.

CIAT chairwoman Doan Thi Kim Hong says the fair provides a good opportunity for businesses to advertise their products and links the central key economic region with other countries in the Mekong sub-region and the East-West economic corridor.

On the sidelines of the fair will be a number of seminars and conferences on investment promotion, expanding opportunities for economic development in the region.

The fair is scheduled to run until June 10.
