Trade between VN-Myanmar up

Two-way trade between Viet Nam and Myanmar reached US$65 million during the first five months of this year, up 42 per cent year-on-year, according to Myanmar Customs Department’s statistics.

Of the total, $30 million came from Viet Nam’s exports, a yearly rise of 123 per cent including steel, garment materials, pharmaceutical, electronic component, construction materials and equipment. Myanmar was described as a potential market for Vietnamese products due to its favourable geographic location, its large consumption power and less strict demand than other markets.
