Tra fish exports to reach over $1.5b

Vietnam’s export revenue from tra fish is currently estimated at more than $1.2 billion, according to Duong Ngoc Minh, deputy Chair of the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Processors (VASEP).
VASEP is optimistic about tra fish exports in the fourth quarter of this year, saying that the country’s total export revenue from tra fish is likely to surpass $1.5 billion by the end of 2011.

Minh says that although European markets are facing difficulties due to their economic and debt crisis, their imports of Vietnamese tra fish remains almost unchanged.

At present, Vietnamese tra fish is traded at 27,000 dong/kilogram. – VOV
