Third turbine of Su Pan 2 hydropower plant starts operations

The first and second turbines of Su Pan 2 hydropower plant had previously been successfully generated electricity. The total capacity of three turbines is 34.5 MW.
After nearly 10 hours of start-up and adjustment, the third generator, the last one, of Su Pan 2 hydropower plant in Ngoi Bo stream, Ban Ho commune, Sa Pa district in the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai has started generating electricity stably.

Su Pan 2 hydropower plant invested by Song Da-Hoang Lien Hydropower Joint Stock Co (Song Da Group) is urgently finalising remaining necessary procedures to join the national grid in October.

The project was kicked off in early 2007 and is expected to finish in the end of 2010.

But, due to a landslide in December 2010, the pace of the plant has been delayed for nine months.
