The Mekong River Delta: tiger prawn prices increase 43.4% on year

Tiger Prawn Prices rose by VND57,500 a kg or up 43.4% on year due to epidemic diseases in Soc Trang, the Mekong River Delta province, one of Vietnam’s largest shrimp exporters.

In Bac Lieu province, the wholesale prices of big-size tiger prawn of 20 shrimps/kg have been sold at the highest price of VND190,000/kg for many years, increasing VND5,000/kg (+2.7%) from the last week and VND57,500(+43.4%) on year.

Oppositely, prices of small and medium sizes tiger prawn remain decreasing. In Ca Mau province, tiger prawn of 30 shrimps/kg decreased at VND131,000/kg. Tiger prawn of 20 shrimps/kg and 40 shrimps/kg cost VND173,000 and VND98,000 respectively. – Stoxplus.com
