Thais group arranges $2.5b of loans for Southern Region Oil Refinery Complex

Dhep Vongvanich, the country managing director in Thailand-based SCG Group announced that his group was coordinating with Japanese partners to arrange the loans of $2.5 billion for Southern Region Oil Refinery Complex project to be sited in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province.

This joint project will be conducted by two Vietnamese firms of the National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) and Vietnam Chemicals Corp and two partners of SCG Group and Thailand Plastic and Chemicals Co.

The project is sited in an area of about 400 hectares. After being finished in 2016, each year the complex is supposed to produce and supply 1.45 million tonnes of plastic particles of polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) and 730,000 tonnes of raw materials for producing PVC plastic and other 840,000 tonnes of other basic chemicals
