Thai Nguyen paper project in the mix

The ECI Thai Nguyen paper and pulp project is starting to take shape.

Deputy minister of Industry and Trade Ho Thi Kim Thoa and representatives from relevant government bodies recently worked with Thai Nguyen authorities about the ECI Thai Nguyen paper and pulp project with the International Import Export Construction and Investment Joint Stock Company (ECI) acting as the developer.

The complex is to be positioned in Phu Binh district’s Xuan Phuong and Kha Son communes with construction to be finalised after three years.

In the first phase the complex is expected to turn out 260,000 tonnes of pulp per year which will help boost the province’s current paper production capacity by 10-fold. Its total investment capital is around VND8.4 trillion ($403.9 million).

ECI was required to make clear about the complex’s material planning areas, undertake with local governments to ensure sufficient material supply for production, weigh up prospective difficulties in production and report them all to Thai Nguyen management and relevant government agencies before submitting the project to the prime minister for approval. – VIR
