Thai consultancy to hold forth at seminar on foreign contractor tax

Thai company Irving Seminar and Training will organise a seminar on how to overcome the complexity of the foreign contractor tax in Viet Nam early next month.

The training company, which has a presence in Thailand, Cambodia, and Viet Nam, will explain the practical implications of the tax to enable delegates to determine the tax consequences for their firms.

The FCT is complex, with different rates and values for different kinds of businesses.

The key points Irving experts will talk about are which withholding taxes apply to construction, installation, and services, whether to split services from equipment, and how to obtain exemptions based on double-taxation agreements.

Well-known consultants like Baker&McKenzie, Deloitte, DFDL Mekong, EP Legal, and Ernst&Young will also share their knowledge and experiences at the seminar.
