Textile export turnover touches over $7.5b in first nine months

Vietnam Textile and Garment Associtation (Vitas) has said that the country’s accumulative export turnover in Jan-Sep was estimated at over $7.5 billion, a year-on-year increase of 17 percent.

The textile export in first nine months has got many advantages such as plentiful orders, an increase of 10-20 percent in export price. It was predicted that the whole country’s textile export may surpass the export targets of $10.5 billion this year.

Apart from slow recovery in EU markets, the other large export destinations including the US, Japan reached high growth rates as well as expanding export market shares.

Thanks to signed trading agreements between Asean and Japan, South Korea, Vietnam’s apparel export to those markets saw significant growth, such as 80 percent in South Korean markets and 15 percent in Japanese ones.
