Ten Vietnamese firms listed among region’s best
Ten Vietnamese small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have been listed among the 200 top-performing SMEs in the Asia-Pacific region in a survey by Forbes Magazine.
According to the US financial magazine, this is the first time these 10 companies have earned a position on ‘the Best Under a Billion’ list which was determined based on a survey of 15,000 SMEs from 14 nations and territories in the Asia-Pacific.
“Our selection of the Best under a Billion in Asia-Pacific begins with a search for companies that show both sales and earnings growth. To qualify they must have annual revenue between US$5 million and $1 billion and be publicly traded for at least a year. The universe is then screened for earnings growth, sales growth and return on equity in the past 12 months and over 3 years,” Forbes explained in a story.
The magazine added that these were their picks of the companies that had best managed through the economic volatility that began in 2008. Most navigated the global credit crunch with little to no debt on their balance sheets.
Of the 10 vietnamese companies on the list, Hau Giang Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company and Dong Phu Rubber earned the highest positions with their respective market values of $454 million and $108 million.
