Telecom firms to raise iPhone 4 price

Under the pressure of forex rate, the telecommunication firms namely VinaPhone and Viettel, two distributors of Apple’s iPhone 4, are planning to raise the price of this device.

Particularly, VinaPhone will increase iPhone 4 price by 200,000 dong per unit in Vietnam.

Reportedly, two firms will import 2,500 iPhone 4 units each in the near future.

At this time, VinaPhone sells iPhone 4 16GB at 13.699 million dong per unit, and iPhone 4 32GB at 16.099 million dong. The prices of two iPhone 4 versions, applied on pre-paid subscribers along with the commitment of using 1.4 million dong/year mobile service, are 14.299 million dong and 16.899 million dong, respectively.

Viettel has not announced new iPhone prices.

In the free market, iPhone 4 is in the new price frame with an increase of 100,000 dong to few hundreds of thousand of dong against the previous time, particularly iPhone 4 16GB at 19.5 million dong and iPhone 4 32GB at 21.9 million dong per unit.
