Tea festival to have a tasty blend

Vietnam’s first international tea festival will be held in northern Thai Nguyen province in November.

The main activities will be an international seminar on tea, a tea cultural event and a beauty contest.

According to Ma Thi Nguyet, Thai Nguyen People’s Committee deputy chairwoman, all activities were inspired by the north’s character.

The international seminar themed “Vietnamese tea to integrate globally” will be held on November 13, 2011 at the Thai Nguyen hotel.

The Tea Culture Festival themed “The Destination of Domestic and International Tea Enterprises” will take place on November 11-15 and is expected to welcome tea producers and experts from 34 domestic provinces and 10 countries.

The beauty contest, “Miss Tea Contest”, will run from November 11-15 at the Thai Nguyen Cultural Centre.

The event was expected to attract 400,000 domestic visitors and 40,000 international tourists, said Nguyet.

The festival was aimed to exchange experiences and techniques to process tea between domestic and international tea-related businesses.  -VIR
