Switzerland vows all-round cooperation with Vietnam

Switzerland will continue to promote its friendship and all-round cooperation with Vietnam, Jean Rene Germanier, Head of the Swiss National Council (Lower House) said.

The Swiss parliament will increase experience sharing in operations of the two legislative bodies, especially at committee level and parliamentarians’ groups, Jean Rene Germanier told Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai in Bern on September 14 during the latter’s official visit to Switzerland occasioned by the 40thanniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties.

Deputy PM Hai said Vietnam always attaches importance to boosting traditional friendship and cooperation with Switzerland, particularly the cooperation between the two parliaments.

He took this opportunity to convey National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung’s invitation to Jean Rene Germanier to visit Vietnam. The Swiss MP accepted the invitation with pleasure. The visit will be arranged through diplomatic channels.

The same day, Deputy PM Hai met with Doris Leuthhard, Head of the Federal Department of Environment, Energy, Transport and Communications, discussing measures to enhance management and effective use of energy as well as environmental protection in Vietnam’s current economic circumstances.

The Minister committed to promote further cooperation with Vietnam in the fields of her charge.

Hai also met with the Switzerland-Vietnam Friendship Association on September 14. – VOV
